    Description

    Antique Copper/brass oil can, Landers, Frary & Clark, New Britain. Conn.
    Antique, stamped on bottom, Landers, Frary & Clark, New Britain, Connecticut copper oil can. Gorgeous shape and style with aged patina. Measures 9" in length, 3" tall to top of lid, 3 1/2" tall including spout, 4" in diameter. Lid screws off for refilling. Thumb plunger for pumping works but top of plunger is missing. Stopper and chain are missing.
    I am unable find a date of manufacture, but best guess is early 1900’s.
    Landers, Frary & Clark was a housewares company based in New Britain, Connecticut. It operated from 1865 until its assets were sold to the General Electric company in 1965.
    They manufactured a wide variety of products over the years, including stainless steel bull-nose rings and electric ranges, kitchen scales and vacuum bottles, window hardware and ice skates, mouse traps and percolators, can openers, corkscrews, cutlery, straight razors, aluminum cookware, and thousands of other products.
    Item offered here is from a bulk purchase Estate Sale. It was either on display in the home, or in storage.
